Update! HISD will extend the school closing until Monday, May 4th (unless extended).

As we continue to navigate through this challenge that is before us, HISD must continually monitor the systems and plans we have in place and make necessary changes when needed.

Out of an abundance of caution during the ongoing reaction to the COVID-19 crisis, and with the goal of protecting the well-being and safety of Huntington ISD staff and the Huntington ISD community, TODAY will be the last day for mobile meal delivery in HISD.

Revised Child Nutrition Plan:  Beginning Tuesday, April 14, 2020

We continue to navigate through this challenge that is before us.  HISD is continually monitoring the systems and plans we have in place to make necessary changes when needed.

Our goal is to protect the well-being and safety of Huntington ISD staff and the Huntington community.

HISD has developed a plan to assure our staff and community are protected and provide parents/guardians some convenience from having to drive to school two times per day.

Beginning Tuesday, April 14th:
Curbside meals will be provided on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday of each week from:
11:30 am - 1:00 pm. (Pickup will include lunch for that day and the next morning's breakfast).

HISD thanks you for your continued support.  It is a great time to be a Red Devil.

Mr. Flowers.

The Governor of Texas has issued an Executive Order to temporarily close schools through Friday, April 3rd.  We anticipate the Governor will make an announcement next week regarding this order.  With that being said, Huntington ISD must plan and prepare for our students.

HISD will extend the school closing until Monday, May 4th.  We have a great Learning Plan and Nutrition Plan in operation and will continue with our current system that is in place.

This situation is extremely "fluid" and we hope there is a resolution sooner than later.  We will continue to monitor and will notify our HISD stakeholders with any updates to our current plan.

We continue to pray and plan for end-of-year activities.  We would love to announce a return to campus soon, but at this time, we will "bite" these decisions off in small chunks.

It's a great time to be a Red Devil.

Mr. Flowers
